This was shot for the 5pm news as a daily assignment after the City of Minneapolis marked Indigenous Peoples' Day today with a resolution declaring the land of Fort Snelling's Coldwater Springs sacred and protected. "We first met each other is was beautiful, it was spiritual, it was welcoming," said Michael Peters, a Native American from North Dakota who led the ceremony. "Who knows what could have been. But the things that happened happened. There's nothing we can do about it. But today, we come back together, maybe we can rekindle some of that humanity."
